We begin with an initial evaluation.
In order to prepare, we conduct an individualized assessment, which is crucial to the development of a constructive intervention plan for your child. At this time, our consultants will conduct some preliminary testing, gather relevant background information as well as visit with you informally. This initial evaluation is the first step in creating a complete profile of your child’s unique needs and capabilities.
We offer a recommendation.
Based on the initial assessment, we will offer a recommendation as to whether or not our program would be beneficial for your child.
We will help you prepare.
During the time leading up to the first consultation, we will provide you with a supply list and information you need in order to prepare. This will also be the time to hire a team of instructors. These individuals will be the group your consultant trains to work with your child. The number of instructors required will vary according to our recommendations and your available funding. Your consultant will also offer suggestions on recruiting instructors.
The initial consultation is conducted in your home by one of our consultants.
The purpose is to educate and train your family as well as your team of instructors to perform the programs that have been precisely tailored to the needs of your child. This visit will include a theoretical presentation, an overview and explanation of the treatment principles involved, and plenty of hands-on training in the techniques and strategies we are recommending for your son or daughter.
By the conclusion of the first consultation, your team will be ready to address the goals that will form the foundation of your child’s intellectual, emotional and social growth.
Follow-up consultations:
Most subsequent visits are scheduled at approximately monthly intervals. These consultations can be used to adjust programming or be used towards instructor training as recommended by your clinical supervisor. At the conclusion of each consultation, a plan will have been established with appropriate goals for your child to accomplish before the next consultation. The length of each visit may vary according the number of supervision hours in the service plan you select. Monthly supervision can be applied to a single visit or several individual visits.
